Beach Portraits in North Carolina

What do you do on a misty day in September at the beach? Roll up your pants and run through the water, of course! The forecast was for rain. Based on the hourly forecast that morning, the afternoon was not going to cooperate, and we agreed to reschedule the session. But at noon, the sky was blue and full of white puffy clouds. I checked again, and the hourly forecast changed. I called the Mom, and asked, "should we try?" She agreed and we ventured down to the New Jersey Shore. When we finally arrived, the sun was still shining, but the clouds were rolling in. Within 30 minutes, the sunlight was gone and in another 20 minutes, the misty rain started. But we kept going. It didn't bother any of us, and the sky had this beautiful purple haze, perfect for capturing photographs of a little munchkin running on the beach and having a fantastic time with his Mom. I didn't mind the misty rain, or the sand in my boots, or the chill in the air, because the warmth of this little guy's smile is all we need to have a wonderful day.
