When a photographer describes themselves as award‑winning, it usually means their work has been evaluated in professional image competitions by a panel of trained, credentialed judges. These competitions are designed to challenge photographers at a high level, and earning a merit or placement means the image met or exceeded strict artistic and technical standards.
Throughout my career, I’ve submitted work to respected competitions such as Professional Photographers of America’s International Photographic Competition, NAPCP’s Inspired Gallery Competition, Shutterfest, WPPI, and Senior Style Guide. The judging can be rigorous, but the critiques are invaluable — they push you to refine your craft, grow as an artist, and continually elevate the work you deliver to your clients.
